Rotational Internship Program

Rotational Internships provide opportunities to acquire practical experience in a small art museum by working closely with staff members on projects and assisting in daily operational duties. Interns rotate through groupings of departments: curatorial, communications, development, education, registration, and the Open Sessions program for emerging artists. In addition, interns are given the opportunity to learn about each department in greater detail through staff presentations.

Deadlines for applications are April 15 for Summer session, July 1 for Fall session, and November 15 for Spring session.

Internship Application :

Interns should be undergraduates, graduate students, or recently graduated students and should have completed at least one year of college.

Time Commitment

Interns must commit to work a minimum of fifteen hours each week, attend opening receptions for all exhibitions, and assist with at least one special event each month during the duration of the internship. Internships run for approximately two to four months, the summer session runs from the end of May or beginning of June through July. In some circumstances, interns may be able to continue for subsequent sessions.

As of July 1, 2019, The Drawing Center will offer a monthly Intern Stipend Program, an initiative towards fair and equitable compensation for interns.
