Artist Statement
I makes large scale, obsessive pen and ink drawings that convey minute structures within an infinite space. Often using images from the Hubble telescope and microscopic images of cellular and molecular structures within the body, I attempt to understand how the macro and micro create infinite patterns that dictate how we relate to the universe and the unknown.
In this recent body of work, I explored how sound defines empty spaces. While listening to specific groupings of sounds and narratives, I created structures that mimic these sounds and wove the narratives into the construction. Within each of the drawings, the memory of each sound has been mapped.
