it was something about another sighting, was it Mary on the porcelain pitcher?
the centipede crawls lightning quick, the caterpillar’s slow and easy, silly little caterpillar
little one giggling and laughing making her self understood in a kangaroo paradise
the push me pull me tsunami
perfectly right now
the Hunter endlessly waiting
mama’s gonna bargain with the old cook pot
the old woman who lived in a shoe put all the kids in a submarine and they went to war
pickled roots and apples, berries. Autumn sun: Lascaux dreams
pink tower: where rainbow bee eaters gather

Artist Statement

My paintings and drawings document everyday experiences without specifics. I venture in with silver point, then respond with aggressive intuition. Bold additions and carefully choreographed subtractions come together; a call-and-response dance of oppositions, an action that is simultaneously generative and re-generative. I enjoy moving into the work and shifting scale, density, energy and clarity, using marks as stand-ins for emotions, desires, and events. Looking inward toward the body and its functions while looking outward toward a greater lived experience gives form to an imagined in-between. This space folds together human and machine, past and present, control and fluidity-- relationships continuously considered, explored and abstracted.
