Artist Statement

My work s a dialogue between drawing and sculpture and a linear map for birth, growth and decay. I create lines and erotic forms that are inspired by the natural rhythms  and patterns in nature and the inner body. My process is both intuitive and labor intensive. On paper, I tear and glue colored tape and tissue paper and on metal, I cut and hammer organic forms that are welded together with laced like veins. Lines twist and turn, cross one another, tighten,  loosen, embrace vaginal and phallic forms, tear, unravel and fade away. The inspiration for making this body of work comes from wanting to set free that which I feel has been confined.
