Whether it involves cutting up pictures, minimalist installations or drawings on paper, this work carries out research into Identity/Territory.
In my drawings, I focus more specifically on what defines a form, an existence.
My choice to trace lines on paper is a minimal and concrete process, which takes place in a specific slower time, located at the opposite extreme of the flow of the images in which we are immersed. These are artificial, virtual, undifferentiated images which we receive in a constant rapid influx in our digital and physical territories, and which reach our inner territories by imposing themselves upon us.
And it is precisely the Internet where these images come from.
Images which I chose, and whose Invisibility is strikingly evident to me: genuinely worn out by the repetition of excessive media coverage or denied by our internal censors.
Hollowing out the content, isolating it on the one hand and simultaneously embodying the digital image on paper, in order to reveal an ultimate visual presence.
Opening these receptacles to the free play of associations and interweaving elements and trying to give them a meaning that is Other.
