I am fascinated by the western landscape, its mythology of transcendence, openness, and optimism.
In researching certain sites of interest, there are diversions, many drawings, and wrong turns.
I struggle to make paintings of these places that are compelling to see, resonate in the mind, and require some time to reveal their effect.
