Artist Statement

My work is based on a relationship with my family history, exploring the demons that haunt one’s life from intimate and often dark memories from the past.  I am interested in the relationship between man and nature, drawing worlds where the forest can be a place for regeneration and strength, while examining the spiritual disconnectedness that occurs when this relationship is weakened.  The imagery in my drawings is rich with mystic symbolism and references to biblical lore and cultural iconography, conjuring mysterious visions and disquieting allegories for something mythological, entire narratives that blur the line between fantasy and reality.
