Artist Statement
This body of work is part of the discipline of drawing as independent, not subsidiary of other subjects as a project or sketch, or while previewing or preventing error. Among them there isn’t an established common relationship as regards to a theme or created topic nor with an external model, as a guiding practice, an axis around which work evolves and to which it is connected.

The transversal line is in the method of doing, the way the drawing is generated and built.

That method of doing alludes to a level prior to the outlined image on the surface of the paper, to a construction that precedes it and the way it articulates with the practice of drawing as a visible sign.

Initially a mental drawing is formed, a route map that is generated as it moves forward to be itself a territory. A map that is formed by articulation of affinities, exclusion and inclusion of elements.

This first drawing materializes from an established relationship with a read or written text, which provides audio and visual images, a text that establishes a point of view, a place, a specific focus, a focal point.

In a second instance it is determined a surface and a scribe and the movement of the mental drawing is repeated. It starts with a center, which unfolds, which expands forming itself around it, and this movement determines opacity, light, scales.

This practice of drawing involves a constant research and experimentation of materials, their limitations and possibilities.
