My fascination lies in the process of exploration and discovery. As a visual journal, my studio work strongly resembles the unfolding complexities of the Fibonacci summation sequence of numbers. Each sequential figure is the sum of those preceding. My ambition is to continually build upon and branch from previous work: each new piece evolving from those before, and in turn providing material for work to come.

While the summation sequence is a linear and predictable system, non-linear meanderings and anacoluthic transitions naturally inform the progression of my work. Through constant introduction of new elements, I aim to create an ongoing, evolving system of work that evokes wonder and the sense that there is something hidden waiting to be found – both in my work and in the world around us. The inspirations are nothing less than encyclopedic. Myth, archetype, contemporary culture, social and political concerns, science, medicine, religion, philosophy, literature, personal and collective history have all contributed to my practice.

I am drawn toward latent structures, indiscernible figures, forms that wax and wane in perception, and thoughts or images that coalesce and dissipate. With a predilection to create chaos out of order and vice versa, my work is a personal attempt to disintegrate hierarchical structures.
