Artist Statement
My recent work can be considered 3-dimensional drawing, since it combines sculptural objects made of paper with drawings. I recreate everyday landscapes like kitchens in life size, primarily using paper, colored pencils, and acrylics. The dichotomy between typically sturdy and utilitarian objects and the true fragility of the art create tension between the ordinary and the unexpected, thus questioning the uncertainties and ambiguities involved in sensations and experiences. I am interested in sharing my vision of everyday scenery, and I seek to transform unfamiliar places into exhibition spaces that ultimately become my intimate, personal space.
