Artist Statement

My drawings are propositions for architectural structures, installations, and marquees that explore psychological and political aspects of space.  I convey how closed belief systems, affluent in religions and political ideologies, act as physical barriers in the world, creating architectures of isolation and regression.  I draft structures that have a do-it-yourself existentialism, composed of raw building materials and domestic objects.  At other times I reinvent an existing form or building by changing it's original make-up or function.  My recent work responds to the American embassy in Iraq and reinterprets military vessels to be used for peaceful means.
