"In art, rebellion is consummated and perpetuated in the act of real creation, not in criticism or commentary. Revolution, in it's turn, can only affirm itself in a civilization and not in terror or tyranny." Albert Camus
Artist Bio / CV
Olin Roth grew up in a small town just south of San Francisco, California. It was the kind of place where everyone knew everyone else's name, a stop for gas on the way through town. When he decided it was time to leave there was no place he could go that would take himself far enough away.
For several years Olin traveled the world, crossed the United States a few times. He spent some time in Europe, England, France, Italy...He spent some time time with a group of French artists painting illegal murals around the streets of Paris.
In 2001 Olin moved to New York City where he studied painting at the School of Visual Arts. New York quickly became the center of the world for Olin. It was a huge stepping stone for his career, inspiration is in endless supply here, you just need to look in the right places.
Olin continues to travel and paint but he always comes home to Brooklyn where he lives and works.
