My work is a continual exploration of the relationship between memory and experience. I’m engaged in how the space of childhood resurfaces and defines our sense of self. By suggesting a child’s point of view, my narratives touch upon imagined fears, ambivalence or body awareness. I'm interested in what is hidden than what is seen, in the reality behind appearances; this pairing is an important component to understanding my work. I am so drawn to the honesty of childhood emotions and how it imprints itself on the depth of our being. It’s the recognition of this emotional experience I try to elicit in my drawing and painting.
