My interest in these text-based drawings is to explore the aspect of Language as a connector and barrier while establishing the symbiotic relationship between drawing and writing.
Text for the drawings is chosen from everyday events that are of interest to me. The topics range from politics to social to spiritual. The drawings are executed by using pen, graphite, markers on paper through a careful process of arrangement and juxtaposition resulting in, sometimes inadvertently creation of new meanings.
In the text-based line drawing series, NOW&HERE, the illegibility of the written text alludes to my struggle of understanding the ideology of 'being in the present'. For representation purpose the expressive qualities of line is investigated in these text-based drawings.
