In my drawings, abstraction and figuration merge, while complementing each other. I present invented landscapes and floras that exist in a liquid and fluid universe. This unreal environment develops into organic forms, filled with folds and re-enterings. My drawings reveal a subtle equilibrium between lines, traces, superimpositions, details and color fields.
I’m currently working with big format drawings: extremely impactful explosions of color, in which I conjugate small circular forms drawn with a simple pencil together with many colored pencil forms. Graphic elements constantly repeat themselves and occupy the entire surface of the paper, as if insinuating an existence beyond. In the series My Last Time, the pictorial reference of my work is evidenced; I use the color pencil-made stains as if they were paint, combining drawing and painting in the composition and exploiting the delicate frontier that exists between these two languages.
