Artist Statement
The majority of my drawings are made using the typewriter. I started using this machine to draw in 1999. The images are formed through an accumulation of letters. I use the typewriter as a mark making tool and bridge between thought and order. Many of my drawings are experiments in logic where I discover the image upon completion. My images seek to uncover the underlying rules and foundational structure of nature. I have also re-engaged working with Civil War song lyrics which touch on the complexities of war and our attempt at resolution. I contrast this with mathematical systems and organizational rules. www.pierogi2000.com
