Artist Statement
My sculptural installations and large scale drawings are based on false architectural opulence and elicit discomfort in terms of easy classification. In keeping with this discomfort, I would like to make works that deal in stereotyped mutations, the visages of which expose our preconceptions about cultural cataloging and typecasting.

I often use stereotypical horror-movie tropes, playing on the undulating gothic spaces and monstrous nature of the "other," found in films like Robert Wise's "The Haunting."

I am interested in creating false spaces and objects that allude to Gothic ornamentation and architectural affect, while simultaneously announcing and referencing their low-budget making.
