Artist Statement
I am interested in expanding upon contemporary sign, signifier, visual language and iconography through the manipulation of graphic elements and cultural fragments; collecting and creating icons like vessels, utilitarian visuals to hold and absorb the relevant and necessary, producing dense sequenced matrices of information, immersive fields of vision, psychological spaces, like intoxication, dream sense, spells, and hints of experience beyond immediate perception.

I studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (BFA, Graphic Design. '06) where I developed my interests in installation, book arts, typography, and collective productions, and have since maintained an independent studio practice, working often in close collaborative relationships with artists, designers, and institutions producing expansive bodies of conceptual and process based work largely through processes or drawing, printmaking, and collage.

In 2005 I helped found Hardland/Heartland (thereisawe.com) an arts collective that has since been exhibiting drawings, books, and installations widely in the United States and Europe. In 2011 I exhibited a solo show at the Soo Visual Art Center (Mpls, Minnesota), released sophomore album N.N.E. with the musical ensemble Radical Cemetery, currently have a furniture collaboration with RO-LU available at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's pop–up shop Product Porch, and have as of this fall published a number of artist books through Location Books (Mpls), the Journal of Artist Books (Chicago), and Museums Press (Glasgow).
